ABOUT THE CLIENT

TheGuarantors are an insurtech company that mitigates all tenant risks that landlords face; from tenant screening to rental guarantees to reducing vacancy times. TheGuarantors offer landlords free access to their software platform, which makes renting safer for landlords and tenants alike.

THE CHALLENGE

As a startup backed by prominent venture-capital firms and real estate investors, TheGuarantors needed to position themselves to pass their investors’ due diligence. They needed to do this in the agile-development phase of their product, facing tight cycles of product development, testing, and launch.

Working together with TheGuarantors, Strata KK identified various levels of need:

• Firstly, there was an urgent need to add new functionality to the platform and to support TheGuarantor’s overstretched project managers.
• There was also a need to augment the existing company software development strategy to improve processes such as the QA pipeline.
• Finally, there was a need to support the project management methodologies implemented by this fast-growing team.

THE SOLUTION

Strata KK took on responsibility for developing the new platform features. The immediate impact of which was to alleviate TheGuarantor’s project managers from the product development pipeline to allow them room to strategize.

Before extracting the development team, Strata KK introduced modern Project Management tooling (Jira) and Agile methodologies. Concurrent to this, the Strata KK team implemented an advanced QA pipeline in the development process.

THE OUTCOME

Following the support cycle offered by Strata KK, TheGuarantors have successfully navigated another round of funding, and the software passed their investors’ due diligence.

Over the last 12 months, TheGuarantors have guaranteed over $100 million in rent payments to landlords, and have expanded into Boston, Chicago, and the DC area.

TheGuarantors platform is now accepted for over 200,000 rental units. It has been adopted by some of the leading landlords and property managers in the US.
